Seismic Unix and TKSU Overview
Symmetric Research supports Seismic Unix under Linux. Seismic Unix
(SU) is an extensive public domain collection of Linux-based
reflection, migration, and general signal processing programs which is
popular with many exploration geophysicists. Although developed by
many contributors, SU is maintained by the Colorado School of Mines
and is available for free download at their site.
TKSU is an extension to SU for graphical process flow control making
SU even easier to use. TKSU was designed by Henry Thorson Consulting
and is also available for free download at their site.
SR A/D's and Seismic Unix
Symmetric Research has a pair of command line conversion programs,
srout2su and srdat2su, which translate native SR data files to Seismic
Unix format. This allows data acquired with any Symmetric Research
A/D to be used as input to the SU software system. The sr2su
conversion programs are available for free from the
Specific Applications
section of our download page.
The sr2su file conversion utilities are compatible with all of the SR
A/D products. This includes the 16 bit, 64 channel DSPA64/HLF system,
the 24 bit PAR24B, and all three members of the 24 bit PARxCH family.
General questions about Seismic Unix are probably best answered by the
SU User's discussion group. But, if you have specific questions about
sr2su, please let us know at info@symres.com.
